As we embark on our 50 year anniversary, we are committed to treating the whole person — and their families — with caring, qualified professionals through evidence-based care to teens, adults, and families.

We are currently seeking a Bilingual Marriage Family Therapist or Marriage Family Therapist Intern at Kern Valley State Prison is seeking a bilingual full time paid employee/intern who is accountable for individual and some family therapy sessions, psychological screenings, and treatment planning. The employee is responsible for timely and accurate completion of individual client sessions notes, reports, and other documentation related to the treatment and progress of clients in the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Documentation includes a web-based, electronic health record

•Employees must pass two-day training as part of the hiring process.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

•A minimum of a Master of Arts or Science Degree in behavioral science, counseling, marriage family therapist, social work, and a registered intern number with the California Behavioral Board of Sciences and license eligibility is required.

•Current and valid driver’s license in state of residence

SKILLS:

•Bilingual (Spanish) Required

TRAINING:

Phoenix House provides extensive training in the areas of assessment, treatment planning crisis intervention, individual counseling, facilitation of evidenced based groups, DSM5 diagnostic skills, and electronic health record training. Employees/interns receive individual and group supervision in accordance with the California Behavioral Board of Sciences or Board of Psychology
