Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, grounds and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.
•Keeps facilities in compliance with all guidelines and in good appearance
•Completes general repairs in all facilities. Upon receipt of work orders performs visual walk through of facility upon arrival and does additional work, if necessary
•Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment as necessary
•Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
•Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
•Lays’ out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum one (1) year related experience and/or training in general maintenance
• Experience with HVAC
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
