Phoenix House Recovery Support Specialist- Part Time in Dorchester, Massachusetts

Phoenix House Dorchester Center is a long-term residential family substance abuse treatment facility for women and their children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. In a warm and safe environment that feels like home, the program provides drug and alcohol abuse treatment that is woman-centered and trauma-informed, with a goal of successful family reunification. Our skilled professional staff is dedicated to helping women overcome substance dependence and empowering them to achieve productive, drug-free lives. The Center also provides referrals to social service agencies throughout the Boston area to assist clients with childcare, afterschool programs, and treatment for co-occurring mental health needs. We are located on the campus of St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center, a community-based, multiservice agency that provides support services, including education and job training, to adult women as well as pregnant and parenting teens. St. Mary’s Campus is also home to Phoenix Families, our highly successful emergency shelter and re-housing program for mothers and children.

We are seeking a Recovery Support Specialist to assist with client screenings, admission, discharges, orientations, and assessment functions as assigned by Director. This person will also have to ensure accurate documentation of client information into our electronic medical record.



•High School or equivalent experience/knowledge.

•A valid driver’s license


•Experience assisting client population and serve as a positive role model to clients.

•Ability to work and communicate with others.

•Excellent organizational management skills and ability to maintain self and client discipline.

•Previous medical documentation experience


•Knowledge of local, state and federal policies and regulations.

•Maintain current CPR/FA certifications and CPI annual training.
