Phoenix House Admissions Specialist- Part Time in Providence, Rhode Island

Phoenix House New England, founded in Rhode Island in 1967, is one of the region’s premier nonprofit substance abuse treatment agencies, annually serving more than 3,500 individuals at 45 programs and facilities throughout New England. Our treatment philosophy is based on the understanding that addiction is a chronic disease not a moral failing.

The Admissions specialist will be available to work part-time, evening and weekends answering inbound calls for substance abuse treatment programs. This is a 24 hour per week position (see hours below, with some flexibility to be discussed during interview). The Specialist will provide information about Phoenix House programs to referral sources and to potential clients seeking treatment. Follow-up calls, schedule assessments, and verifying health insurance. Correctly and efficiently re-routing unrelated calls is an important part of the position. Document of all activity including patient data into an EHR (Electronic Health Record) and maintain strict confidentiality standards in compliance with HIPAA.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

•HS Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred with a focus in either psychology or social work.

EXPERIENCE:

•Minimum of 1 year working in a substance abuse or mental health setting or healthcare insurance environment or a combination of the aforementioned, highly desired.

•Minimum of 1 year working in a call-center environment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

•Counseling / Case Management

•Knowledge of the “Levels of Care” in substance abuse or mental health

•Proficient knowledge of health insurance and the verification process

•Friday from 4-8pm and Saturday from 8a-8p (with 2 half hour breaks) for a total of 15 hours.
