Phoenix Houses of California seeks a Prevention Coordinator to provide leadership and direction to an assigned school district prevention & intervention team. S/he will work from our Santa Ana, CA facility to serve as a primary liaison with the district and school management personnel to identify strategies and actions to implement the goals and objectives of the program, tailored to the districts and school’s needs. The Coordinator will plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate culturally relevant behavioral health prevention and intervention services standards. The ideal candidate must be able to utilize the PBIS approach in decision making and program management.

*Evening, weekend and holiday hours may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Ability and willingness to report to work on time and ready for work on each scheduled day

•Capability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with adolescent clients

•Capacity to attend and participate in local school, community, staff and other meetings in accordance with the program needs

•Demonstrated strong crisis management, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills

•Skilled at conducting crisis intervention, behavioral health screenings and referrals when needed

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

•Master’s degree in Education, Community Prevention Education, Social Work or related field or equivalent experience preferred

EXPERIENCE:

•Two (2) years' experience in community prevention, intervention, or behavioral health education

•Two (2) years' experience working with children is required

•At least (1) one year supervising a prevention, intervention or treatment team preferred

•Present, facilitate and co-facilitate various group, individual, family, and public education presentations

•Familiarity monitoring program expenditures and ensuring compliance with established budgets and contract guidelines

•Past involvement in promoting and utilizing research based curriculum for youth to ensure fidelity to the model curricula

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

•Must possess and maintain a functioning automobile, valid California Drivers License, auto insurance, and a driving record that allows for operation of personal and company vehicles

•Bilingual Spanish preferred
