Phoenix House Business Development Representative in Arlington, Virginia


This key position requires a dynamic, go-getter driven by our mission and business goals. The incumbent will be responsible for building, advancing, and maintaining referral relationships (including but not limited to hospitals, mental health providers, social workers, insurance providers/companies, community groups, etc.) throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.This position includes conducting and arranging assessments and intake interviews for prospective clients.This person will bring a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit to the team and work closely with referral sources and community organizations to foster strong and collaborative partnerships and maintain existing relationships.


  • Minimum two years direct experience in healthcare marketing or clinical preferred


  • Bachelor degree from approved university in Social Work, Administration/Counseling/Human Services/Nursing or related field required

  • Minimum two (2) years substance use treatment experience preferred


  • Two years direct experience in healthcare marketing preferred

  • Knowledgeable of the medical aspects of addiction, including dual diagnosis, and must have excellent assessment skills

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of various treatment methods and experience working with diverse populations.

  • Knowledge of 12-step recovery programs preferred

  • Must be able to work with male/female, adult (18-over) and adolescent (13-18) substance use/dually diagnosed/opiate dependent population.

  • Must be able to work with culturally diverse populations

  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks of varying difficulty and complexity so that deadlines are met and schedules are maintained

  • Self-disciplined with an ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills required

  • Maintain professional working relationships with staff, including being able to work remotely with team members

  • Exercise discretion in handling details of confidential nature

  • Must be self-motivated, set own schedule and perform duties of job with minimal supervision

  • Ability to establish, maintain and develop business relationships with customers and potential customers in an assigned territory

  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word

  • Ability to work with electronic medical record (EMR) technology.

  • Must possess a state driver’s license with no restrictions and meets all requirements of facility vehicle policy
