Phoenix House Nurse Practitioner - Manager in Citra, Florida
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the medical department for the region with primary support to residential programs. Direct care is a significant part of the position, including administering medications, assisting consulting physicians, developing client treatment plans, filing medical reports, and prescribing medications for treatment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall supervision of Medical function for the region.
Review process and systems for best practices to meet the medical needs of the facility.
Provide acute and chronic medical care substance abusers
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess client’s clinical problems and health care needs.
Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on client’s condition.
Discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive client care plan.
Submits health care plan and goals of individual clients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.
Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
May refer clients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
Lead client health education seminars.
Nurse Practitioner license (Florida required)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience working in a psychiatric care setting or mental health/behavioral environment preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience promoting good health and maintenance

Exposure to clients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other Infectious Diseases
Business-related travel may be required
Weekend and/or holiday shifts may be required.
