The Business Development Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing a business development plan that will enable the region to achieve its private insurance, self-pay, and any other funding census goals. The position will create and implement abusinessdevelopment plan that promotes Phoenix House services to stimulate and maintain private insurance client referrals. The position will develop and maintaineffectiveclient relationships with current and prospective referral sources to market Phoenix House services. The BDS will interface at a detailed level with Managed Behavioral Health Organization’s (MBHO) clinical teams on treatment protocols, management strategies, quality of care matters, medical necessity issues, and opportunities for program issues/enhancements. The BDS will relay MBHO needs to Phoenix House executives for continuous improvement, program development,andclinical redesign.
- Degree in related field of study or comparable work experience
Experienced in Managed Care Principles
Understanding of behavioral health as a discipline
Knowledge of managed care strategies and approaches to medical management of quality and cost of care.
Understanding of and capability to present managed care utilization and quality metrics to demonstrate successful outcomes.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills (communication and presentation skills) for marketing to MBHO management and clinical teams; responding to questions/complaints, andbuilding trust/interest in theuseof Phoenix House programs.
Demonstrated ability to craft and/or contribute to business development program content, collaterals, messaging to MBHOs.
Demonstrated negotiation and persuasive skills
Acute perception of people's attitudes, characteristics and behavior patterns
Proficiency in MS Office products
Excellent organizational, analytical, time management and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to useeffectiveleadership skills in daily interactions, planning,anddelegation of duties
