The House Manager is responsible for assisting in ensuring the training, safety, security,andefficiency of facility and support staff while maintaining compliance with all state, commission, and agency guidelines. Recruit, screen, interview recovery advocate, kitchen, house supervisor and maintenance staff. Supervise community support (all shifts), kitchen, maintenance,andhouse supervisor staff. Review and approve staff time cards, leave requests, and other documentation as required. Ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of the facility at all times.Responsible for conducting contraband searches in accordance with Phoenix House policy and procedures.


Monday - Friday 9:30AM-5:30AM (some flexibility). On call evenings and weekends



  • Masters level counseling degree preferred

  • Valid Texas driver’s license


  • Two years supervisory experience, preferably in a youth residential setting

  • Two years’ experience in substance abuse field and experience working with youth

  • Working knowledge of strengths-based treatment modality is preferred

  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with adolescents, team members, parents and external constituents.


  • Proficiency in MS Office products and experience utilizing web-based programs

  • Excellentorganization and time management skills

  • Strong crisis management, conflict resolution,andanger management skills

  • Ability to workefficientlyin a fast-paced team environment

  • Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with clients

  • Ability to model positive behavior.
