(Full-Time Temporary) Reporting to the Operations Manager the Driver is a responsible for operating a company vehicle in transporting residents and staff to community appointments. Performs related support activities including record-keeping and vehicle maintenance reporting. Responsible for appropriate supervision of all passengers at all times.


  • Variable – Daytime, Evening, and Weekends



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must maintain a valid CA Drivers’ License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.


  • Experience driving clients and commercial licenses preferred with passenger endorsement to drive 15 passenger van


  • Ability and willingness to report to work on time and ready for work on each scheduled day.

  • Exceptional Customer Service skills.

  • Ability to follow direction as given by higher level personnel.

  • Ability to operate hand held radio

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the concepts of providing outstanding patient/customer care.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to make decisions independently and communicate effectively when dealing with clients, families, other staff members, department heads, visitors, external agencies and community members

  • Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with client/patients of Phoenix House

  • Must show aptitude for working independently and as part of a team

  • Demonstrated ability to learn

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

  • Must maintain a valid CA Drivers’ License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.
